The trick to making this recipe  truly delicious is to clean the mushrooms correctly so they don’t come out rubbery when you cook them. The way I clean them is to wipe the outside with a damp paper towel then use a butter knife to gently scrape out the black gills inside the cap. I also like to put the garlic powder (and some salt & pepper) directly on the mushroom to flavor it too! After that you can fill them with whatever you want! I opted for the classic cheese blend but am already looking forward to trying other combos like a ricotta-based white pizza and a tex-mex cheddar & bean filling. You could even set out a make-your-own portabella pizza bar with friends or family so everyone gets exactly what they like. I had both of my pizzas for lunch but they’d make great snacks too. :)
